Connect STR Loophole to ChatGPT & Claude

    What this is

STR Loophole connects directly to ChatGPT and Claude, so you can log the work you do on your short-term rentals, check how close each property is to its 100 or 500 hour material participation goal, and review your properties just by asking your AI assistant. You sign in with your existing STR Loophole account, and the assistant only ever sees and changes data that belongs to your account.

    Before you start

    • You need an STR Loophole account. Sign up in the app or at app.strhours.com if you don't have one.
    • Adding the connector by URL needs a ChatGPT or Claude plan that supports custom connectors (generally a paid plan).

    Connecting in ChatGPT

If STR Loophole appears in ChatGPT's app directory:

    1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors (or search for it in a chat).
    2. Find STR Loophole and select Connect.
    3. Sign in to your STR Loophole account when the sign-in page opens.

If it doesn't show up yet, or you'd rather add it directly:

    1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
    2. Choose Create (sometimes labeled "Add custom connector").
    3. Enter the server URL: https://str-loophole.web.app/mcp
    4. Choose OAuth as the authentication method.
    5. Sign in to your STR Loophole account when the sign-in page opens.

    Connecting in Claude

If STR Loophole appears in Claude's connector directory:

    1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
    2. Search for STR Loophole and select it.
    3. Click Connect, then sign in to your STR Loophole account.

If it doesn't show up yet, or you'd rather add it directly:

    1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
    2. Choose Add custom connector.
    3. Enter the server URL: https://str-loophole.web.app/mcp
    4. Sign in to your STR Loophole account when the sign-in page opens.

You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple, the same way you sign in to the app.

What you can ask it to do

    • Log an activity: "Log 30 minutes of guest messages for my beach house today."
    • Check your progress: "How close am I to 100 hours on each property?"
    • Review recent activity: "What did I log this week?"
    • List or add properties: "Add my new rental on Ocean Ave with a 100 hour goal."
    • Sync your calendar: "Sync my Google Calendar," if you've already connected a calendar in the STR Loophole web app. Synced events go to your review queue for you to tag.
    • Suggest hours from your email: if your assistant can read your email, ask it to find rental work there and send it to STR Loophole. Each email arrives as a suggestion in your review queue, and nothing is logged until you approve it in the app.

Activities are logged under STR Loophole's activity types (Guest messages, Cleaning coordination, Maintenance, Bookkeeping, Marketing, Check in/out, Supplies, Furnishing). Anything that doesn't match is logged as "Other". Entries logged through your assistant count as manual entries on the free plan.

    Data & privacy

Connecting an AI assistant is optional and only starts once you sign in through the steps above. STR Loophole never asks for access to your email. See our Privacy Policy for what the connector can access and how that data is handled.

    Disconnecting

You can remove the connector at any time from your ChatGPT or Claude settings. Disconnecting stops that assistant from reaching your STR Loophole account. The hours you logged stay in STR Loophole.
